Home is where the heart is, yet as so many of us who love a good meal know, the quickest way to the heart can be through the stomach—or taste buds. Our culinary services team is dedicated to nourishing our residents, body and soul, with tasty, heart-healthy meals.

To celebrate, we’re hosting a special “Caring is a Work of Heart” culinary event, and invite you to join us for a delicious meal and to learn about the benefits our residents receive from our nutritional strategy. Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 12th, from 3 to 5pm, when Chef Ramon Carrizales offers you the chance to experience the great flavor and warm feeling of a delicious meal with our culinary team.

Ramon Carrizales is our Culinary Services Director and has been with us at The Gardens for more than ten years! His willingness to always go above and beyond to please our residents and ensure their satisfaction makes him invaluable to our community.

Ramon first discovered his love for cooking as a child in Mexico City. Encouraged by his grandmother, he eventually decided to move to the United States and attend culinary school. He now has more than 20 years of experience working in the culinary field. The dedication and commitment towards culinary services for The Gardens and for our Bethesda community shows everyday through Ramon’s hard work, and our community is so fortunate to have him with us.
