Our very own Connie Dudley, Memory Care Director, is making a notable impact on the lives of our residents while inspiring other staff to do the same! She is one of the many Bethesda Senior Living care givers training in Teepa Snow's POSITIVE APPROACH™ - a progressive therapy for helping seniors and their families recognize and manage the early signs of memory change.
As Memory Care Director at Bethesda Gardens in Springfield, Connie Dudley is intent on empowering her team members to meet each resident at their own special place in the journey of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
As a Teepa Snow POSITIVE APPROACH™ learner, Connie has invested dozens of hours in educating her team members to get to the root causes of residents’ withdrawal, anxious behaviors, and find personalized and meaningful ways to connect through touch, music, and familiar activities.
“I approach residents from the front, greet them with a smile and a hand shake that is hand-under-hand™. Seeing the person, not just the disease makes a big difference in how the resident responds to the care giver. That is something I admire about the Teepa Snow training.”
Connie originally joined the Bethesda team as a nurse in March of 2012. After leaving, she rejoined the team in January of 2016 as the Memory Care Director bringing 15 years of experience in nursing and working with seniors.
